Bazdilot Cordelion (バズディロット・コーデリオン, Bazudirotto Kōderion?) is the "True" Master of True Archer in the True and False Holy Grail Wars of Fate/strange Fake.

Profile[]

Background[]

Bazdilot Cordelion is one of the leaders of the Scladio Family, an American mafia organization that granted services and patronage to other Mages, in return for power and influence. He holds the public persona as the CEO of an industrial waste treatment company. He was suspected in connected to over one hundred and twenty murder cases including several Mages, but the evidence was always insufficient, which put him under the survelliance of the Department of Justice Adminstration who could only find misdemeanors. Before coming under the protection of the Scladio Family, Bazdilot had a confrontation with the Sponheim Abbey, but the situation was defused due to Sponheim Abbey being busy due to the abbott going missing.[1] Despite his fearsome reputation, he encountered a few defeats which he makes no secret of, including almost dying fighting against Holy Church Executors, getting outwitted by the freelance Magus Kairi Sisigou, he had one of his lungs gouged out by Magalo, a member of Der Familie, had most of his Magic Circuits burned by Brother Degras, and he fought to a draw with Wu from the Marble Trading Company. At one point his lover’s head was dumped at his feet to taunt him. Despite his ordeals, Bazdilot was seemingly mentally unaffected throughout.[2]

Due to the influence of the Scladio Family, Bazdilot was picked as one of the True Masters of the Holy Grail War of Snowfield, by Francesca, who is especially interested in him. The boss of the Scladio Family, Galvarosso Scladio, also personally recommended him to Francesca, due to believing Bazdilot to be capable of handling the "mud of the Grail". Francesca chose to give him the "mud" and the catalyst to summon Heracles.[1]

Appearance[]

Bazildot is a man in his 30s or 40s who wears no expression on his face. He has blond hair and holds himself with an air of severity. Due to the effects of the mud, his eyes have yellow irises and black sclera. His eyes are described to be completely lacking “humanity”, being able to freeze hearts and seizing souls. Galvarosso states: “They’re not the eyes of a cold, emotionless killing machine, like hitmen sometimes have. If the machine had just one emotion — the urge to kill — it might get eyes like that.”[1]

His features are well regulated, and he can be seen wearing a suit and black gloves. When Bazdilot struggles to control the mud, black and reddish-brown tattoos peeking out of his cuffs can be seen squirming and writhing on his skin.[1]

Personality[]

Bazdilot has a cold personality, showing little care for others, nor fearing for his own life. He is always remaining calm, never showing bursts of emotions or sudden reactions. Even during dangerous situations, he is capable of remaining unfazed, maintaining a blank expression facing True Caster's illusions even though they caused several Scladio mages to lose consciousness and almost destroyed their sense of self.[3] His voice is described as sounding like “Hell itself.”[1] This lack of emotions makes him seem like a psychopath. Bazdilot shows no remorse when fighting his opponents, willing to kill them with no hesitation even if they are children. He maintains an exact count of the twenty four thousand nine hundred and seventy-six people that were sacrificed to create Mana Crystals, claiming that the number should not be shocking considering that it is half the number the South American drug cartels have killed in the past few years. He believes that if the numerous enemies of the Scladio Family are to be eliminated they should serve a practical purpose as sacrifices turned into Mana Crystals, and that it would be irresponsible with human lives for him to not keep an exact figure of them in his head. Faldeus believes that Bazdilot is not controlling the mud while preserving his sanity, but that he had been mad long before becoming its host, possibly from the very beginning.[4]

Bazildot dislikes dreams and refused to allow himself REM sleep. Instead of using a number of sleep spells utilized by magecraft-using mercenaries, he employs self hypnosis to put his body into a light sleep and his brain into a deep sleep for mere minutes at a time, which allows him to remain active for long periods of time and immediately wake up should an enemy appear. The short-term sleep utilizing the deconstruction of consciousness is a simple spell usable by amateurs, but only a limited number of mages made frequent use of it since the deconstructing of one’s consciousness was something like temporary suicide.[5]

Role[]

Fate/strange Fake[]

Day 0[]

Bazdilot summons True Archer

Bazdilot summons True Archer.

Bazdilot shows up the first time when he crashes into the meat processing facility, after having defeated thirty-six enemy mages who were attempting to take his newly received Command Spells. Bazdilot then kills two more enemies who had infiltrated the plant and then goes off to prepare for his summoning ritual. After doing the necessary preparations, Bazdilot summons his Servant, True Archer, whose identity is the mighty hero HeraclesWP. Bazdilot asks True Archer if he is capable of killing a child, with the noble hero refusing to do such a cold-hearted deed. Seeing his Servant's utter refusal to commit unheroic acts, Bazdilot uses all of his three Command Seals and the mud of the Fuyuki Grail to distort his Servant into a more twisted form. Before Heracles was exposed to the mud, Bazildot commanded him to not makes excuses, followed by a command to remember the humans he has seen and a command to accept human nature. He succeeds, turning the heroic Heracles, into his mortal version Alcides, who holds a deep hatred for gods. This distortion also gives True Archer some of the qualities of the Avenger Class. Now more unheroic, True Archer agrees to be Bazdilot's Servant and do as he says, as long as their goals meet.[1]

Day 1[]

True Archer goes to attack False Archer and his Master, Tine Chelc.[6] He also battles against True Rider, but the entire battle is stopped by True Caster.[3] True Archer retreats, although he becomes interested in False Archer. He then returns to Bazdilot's workshop, where Bazdilot shows him the magic crystal creation system, that uses hundreds of human sacrifices. Although the system kills many humans, True Archer is unconcerned.[4]

Day 2[]

While sleeping, Bazdilot experiences a shared dream of True Archer's past, where he witnesses him aboard the ship of the Argonauts, ArgoWP. He also sees Jason, the captain of the ship, who declares that he will become the greatest and wisest king, who will create a kingdom where even a monster like Heracles can live. After Bazdilot wakes up, he talks with Archer about the dream and Jason, Bazdilot calling him a fool who can't achieve anything. Archer, although he agrees with Bazdilot, tells him to not speak lightly of Jason, as he is his friend. After they are finished talking, Bazdilot's workshop is attacked by Haruri Borzak, the Master of True Berserker, and Fillia, a strange existence that calls herself a goddess. While Archer attacks Fillia, Bazdilot confronts Haruri. He is about to shoot her when True Berserker manifests, shielding Haruri and Fillia. True Berserker then goes on destroying the workshop and the meat processing plant around it. Seeing the destruction, Bazdilot tells Archer that he is allowed to use his full power, saying that he doesn't need to worry about the workshop anymore. Before the battle can escalate, however, True Caster arrives, creating a hole in the ground with his Noble Phantasm, Grand Illusion, where everyone falls into. He manages to create a temporary peace with both sides, recreating the ground afterward.[7]

Afte the battle, Bazdilot and True Archer go to a new base, where Bazdilot receives information about Tsubaki Kuruoka, the young comatose Master of False Rider, from his spies in the police department lead by Orlando Reeve. Bazdilot sends Archer to kill Tsubaki, wanting to take advantage of the situation before Tsubaki is secured by the police force.[8]

Day 3[]

After Bazdilot hears a report that Galvarosso Scladio had been assassinated, much to the surprise of his henchmen, he picks up a grand piano with one hand and carries it into the meat freezer. He plays Lacrimosa by Mozart on the piano before dark-red mud engulfs the room while avoiding the piano, causing the meat previously hanging on hooks to get smashed and flattened, shredded, rot, dissolve into puddles resembling blood, and scorched to ash, even sinking one of Bazdilot's underlings. The magical energy mixed with bloodlust and animosity caused Bazdilot's underlings to scream in terror before collapsing. True Archer appears as Bazdilot leaves the freezer and the piano sinks into the mud, and remarks that he did not expect Bazdilot to be a good player. Bazdilot says he learned piano to discipline his mind, and that he had sworn an oath to play a requiem in the event of Galvarosso's death.[2]

True Archer reports that he failed his mission to kill Tsubaki and was poisoned with Hydra venom. He is using Chiron's immortality to keep himself alive, but the venom is still in him and he can only last three to four days before the pain drives him to madness. Bazdilot asks him if he regrets killing Chiron, and he says he does not because he freed Chiron from the "curse" of immortality. Bazdilot tells him he simply has to kill the other Servants and win the Holy Grail War before he runs out of time. True Archer says he thought Bazdilot was not interested in the Holy Grail. Bazdilot says he is not, but letting True Archer get his wish of erasing the name Heracles from history by destroying everything the gods have built will help him get revenge on Galvarosso's killers.[2]

True Archer tells Bazdilot that Cerberus and three of the Mares of Diomedes were consumed by the wave of blackness that made several combatants disappear yesterday. Though he cannot call them to his side, they are still alive, but under someone else's control. He speculates that whoever controlled the wave of blackness may be related to Hades in some way. He then says under his breath so Bazdilot cannot hear, with a sense of pity, "In that case... even if I do not harm her... its Master is fated to be hunted eventually. Hunted by the true heroes... who safeguard the people."[9]

When Thia Escardos emerges after Flat Escardos's death, Bazdilot is still in his meat factory, making the mud absorb Mana crystals. Alcides warns him about Flat, but Bazdilot just tells him to do whatever he wants, and that, while the enemy of your enemy isn't always your friend, they can still exploit the opportunity.[10]

Day 5[]

Bazdilot and Alcides are now ready to head out, with most of their Mana crystals absorbed by the mud covering Alcides, heading to Ishtar's new temple to take her down.[11]

Abilities[]

Bazdilot is a skilled Magus, who has shown being a very dangerous combatant, killing thirty six mages in his first appearance. He is able to sense the presence of others, including Magi with invisibility barriers and Magi disguised with illusion. By reinforcing his body, he is able to carry two people by the head with one hand each and fall from a skylight to slam their heads, withstand the pressure from True Archer's bloodlust aura that would break the body and spirit of ordinary humans unfazed, as well as repel the force of a shock wave from a supersonic arrow narrowly passing near his head.[1] He only requires a few seconds of sleep per day, and requires little to no nourishment as he is rumored to have hunted a hostile Magecraft user hiding in a snowy mountain workshop for thirty days without food or drink.[2] His speed and agility from Reinforcement Magecraft allows him to jump on flying rubble. He is suspected of being involving in over one hundred and twenty murder cases, through the evidence was always insufficient, and after being sent to prison on a collection of misdemeanors, he was able to claim the first prison he was sent to for the Scladio family within six months after three guards and twenty six prisoners went missing. He comes from a line of mages that are adapted in a twisted school of Magecraft called Domination that focuses on dominating oneself instead of others. He is also said to be possibly skilled on far-eastern folk magic that the Clock Tower holds in contempt. Thanks to his unique form of Magecraft, he is capable of controlling and manipulating the "mud of the Grail" inside himself while maintaining his sanity. He is also able to alter his own body through Domination Magecraft to gain super strength comparable to Reinforcement Magecraft.[1] Apart from his Magecraft, Bazdilot is also skilled in armed combat, wielding a pistol outfitted with ammunition designed to pierce advanced Magecraft defenses. He is also able to use magically-induced refraction on the bullets to hit his targets on their blind spots.[7]

As a leader of the Scladio Family, Bazdilot also holds considerable influence. He has multiple mages under his command and possesses a large workshop in a meat processing facility with the surrounding factories being workshops for other Scladio Magi.[1] The workshop can be activated to become a spatial labyrinth that transforms the workshop partially to an otherworld, that will divert the attacks of the opponents and summon demonic beasts.[7] However, his greatest resource is a magically engineered machine that turns human sacrifices into magical energy stored in crystals. This system of Magecraft was initially developed by Atrum Galliasta and later improved to a far larger scale by the Scladio Family. The system used by Bazdilot uses dozens of sacrifices simultaneously, with Bazdilot having possibly hundreds more prepared; the said human sacrifices were all apparently enemies of the Scladio Family, and while it is usable with corpses it would be vastly less effective. While the Mana Crystals were primarily used in order to add external magical energy when casting a spell, Bazdilot is able to use the “mud” to pollute the energy to then take it into himself, and potentially channel it into his Servant. The amount of energy absorbed by Bazdilot through this trick surpasses that of a witch in the Age of the Gods, and he is capable of launching his accumulated magical energy to pierce through the defenses of a Servant with top-class Magic Resistance such as True Archer even while manipulating the mud to engulf him. He has hidden caches of the Mana Crystals in various locations in the city, such as in fuel and water tanks, which he calculated to be enough to allow his Servant to fight continuously at full strength for several months, even with the high energy demand of his Servant's Noble Phantasms.[4] The system is located in the meat processing plant that works as the workshop of Bazdilot, but there is another similar spare system at another location, for safety.[7]
