Crimson Moon

The Crimson Moon (朱い月 Akai Tsuki) also known as Brunestud of the Crimson Moon was the basis of all True Ancestors and later became one of the Twenty Seven Dead Apostle Ancestors. He was an "Ultimate One", the "Ultimate Being of the Moon" and therefore was Type-Moon (Type is the title bestowed upon the ultimate being of any planet). Other titles refer to him as the "Lord of the Moon".

Gaia (the spirit of earth) made a deal with Crimson Moon that it would allow his "children" to live on Earth in exchange for protection, as it was incapable of forming a Type-Earth creature to defend itself. The Crimson Moon obliged but ultimately had an ulterior motive to take the Earth as his kingdom. His children were the True Ancestors (Shinso) who were copies of him with some flaws; the Crimson Moon later meant to use them as tools in his reincarnation.
The Crimson Moon was ultimately beaten by Zelretch who used True Magic against him.
His known "descendants" are Arcueid Brunestud and Altrouge Brunestud.
[edit] Appearance
His appearance is never revealed but it is likely humanoid and possible resembles Arcueid. However, he may appear as a "shadow" of an existing True Ancestor by manifesting through them, in effect projecting himself in the image of his host. He also takes on the appearance of his host when appearing inside the consciousness of a True Ancestor.
