Role
Edit
In the middle of October 1998, he was attacked by bullies from his old school and saved by Shiki Ryougi. He asked her to hide him at her place and admitted that he had killed his parents because of constant dreams of getting killed by his mother.
By that time, his real body was already dead, when his family had killed each other. The Tomoe saved by Shiki was actually a puppet of him controlled by his brain that was still functioning. This puppet was made by Souren Araya in one of his experiments that attempted to open the gate to the Spiral of Origin.
The puppet however, was able to escape from the loop in which he was killed at night and reborn in the morning. He was attracted to Shiki, fell in love with her and he even confessed (although Shiki only reacted by laughing at him). It is unknown whether his attraction to Shiki was because of his own feelings, or because Araya added it as unconscious imprinting when he ran away. Although Araya clams that his love for Shiki is artificial and that he placed those emotions in his mind.
When Shiki is captured, he first flees back to her apartment, and meets Mikiya. After he is shown his past by Mikiya, they both decide to go save Shiki. After separating from Mikiya, he is confronted by Araya, who tells him of his origin as a puppet, which is shown true when Tomoe's arm falls off, revealing gears inside his arm. He is killed by Araya, but leaves behind Kanesada Kuji, a katana with the ability to break barriers, in the Ogawa apartment's elevator. This causes boundary field around the spiral apartment complex to weaken and thus frees Shiki, allowing her to confront and defeat Araya.
