Lü Bu FengxianWP (呂布奉先WP, Ryofu Hōsen?), Class Name Berserker (バーサーカー, Bāsākā?), is the Berserker-class Servant of Rani VIII in Moon Cell Holy Grail War of Fate/EXTRA. He is only fought as an enemy Servant during the Rin route in contrast to Arcueid Brunestud of the Rani route. He is one of the Servants of Ritsuka Fujimaru of the Grand Order conflicts of Fate/Grand Order.

Identity[]
The General of Repetition (反覆の将, Hanpuku no hata?) of the Romance of the Three KingdomsWP. He is an infamously treacherous military commander from the Three KingdomsWP era. For two times he cut down his foster fathers, and to repeat the act of betrayal on countless occasions was an unbelievable act for the China that esteemed the Confucian moralsWP. Still, his military exploits, deeds of arms are unmatched and he was counted as one of the strongest in the world of the Three Kingdoms.[4][6]
He betrayed Ding YuanWP who appointed him to a high position and conspired with Demon Lord Dong ZhuoWP, who had grasped the central hegemony. But even Dong Zhuo was betrayed and assassinated.[6] He betrayed Dong Zhuo because he was crazily in love with Diao ChanWP (貂蝉WP, Chōsen?).[7]
Lü Bu excelled at shooting on horseback, and because of this gift he was likened to the expert of the bow of the Han DynastyWP: the "Flying General" Li GuangWP. The time when the hero of the Three Kingdoms Liu BeiWP, who Lü Bu called his sworn brother, was cornered by Yuan ShuWP's military commander, Ji LingWP is a man of great influence and Lü Bu's ally. As he did not like the fight between the two, Lü Bu commanded for a halberd to be erected at the camp's gate 150 steeps away. Both the Earth and Heavens aligned in perfect harmony. It was said that the arrow he shot hit the target beautifully and Ji Ling withdrew his army. This event is later called Gate Halberd Shot (轅門射戟, Nagaemon Shahoko?).[4][6]

After this, he wandered around ZhongyuanWP, going through many battles, but in the end was attacked and defeated by an opposing general, Cao CaoWP, due the betrayal of a subordinate. He was then executed.[4][6]
Lü Bu's selfishness was strong and he believed that there was no military commander in this world above himself, but it seems that he let his guard down towards the strategist Chen Gong, who made use of him "effectively" in his tactics until the end.[4][6]
Appearance[]
Lu Bu has short red hair with red feathers on top of his head and white blank plain eyes. He wears a red Chinese general uniform including large armor and thick fur trimming at the collar and gloves. The color of Lu Bu's armor is blue and the fur is white and black striped at Stage 2, and at Stage 3 his fur is black with a yellow striped pattern. He appears strong and has a tall figure, his glittering armor reminiscent of a brave general.[7] Robin Hood noted that Berserker is like a living fortress and it'll be extremely hard to break down his walls. He also explains that he is like a mobile fortress specializing in fighting against military.

Personality[]
As Lu Bu, his personality is seemingly emotionless, insane, and only obeying Rani's commands. His lines are all just incomprehensible yelling, so we don’t know what his real personality is like. It wouldn't be surprising for this Heroic Spirit to betray his Master but it is doubtful that Lu Bu would kill Rani as she looks similar to his wife in his lifetime.[7] However, he does display one glimpse of emotion when he saves Rani and Hakuno from the explosion, looking back and smiling as they are engulfed in light.
Because of Mad Enhancement, he has lost his reason and thoughts and there is never a time when his human nature is revealed. His tastes and preferences are unknown. Maybe he perceives all but himself as an enemy that must be destroyed, for there are also times when he leaves your control. One can gain more peace of mind and employ him when he is mad - a Heroic Spirit who is truly hard to associate with.[4]
In Extella, it is revealed that despite his Mad Enchantment, he retains his treacherous nature and desire for battle. His roars are translated, claiming that if Hakuno wishes to make use of him, to prove himself a commanding officer worthy of him. In Grand Order, his roars are further described, thanks to a dictionary provided by Chen Gong.

Fate/EXTRA[]
Berserker was summoned by Rani VIII. Like with many of his class, he lacks intelligence and can only let out grunts and roars.
Regardless of the choice made by Hakuno Kishinami, they will fight Berserker when they interfere with Rin Tohsaka and Rani's battle.
If Hakuno picked Rin's route, Hakuno will save Rin from Berserker. Lancer stays and sacrifices himself to stall Berserker until Hakuno and Rin escape back to the school. Hakuno will eventually fight Berserker in the sixth round, but does not find out until halfway through the preparation period of that week.[8][9][10]
Berserker will attempt to attack Hakuno from the school and into the Arena, leaving behind damage that clearly lacked any kind of control. Rani will also reprogram an effigy to possess Berserker's skills and use it to enter the Arena in her stead. It's not until Hakuno discovers the Noble Phantasm of their opponent's Servant that they realize their opponent is Rani.
If Hakuno chose Rani's route, Hakuno's attempt to save Rani would make her lose control of Berserker. While Hakuno attempts to fend off Berserker's attacks, SE.RA.PH intervenes with it issuing a Rule infraction warning. Lancer used this opportunity to impale Rani's chest, Berserker tried to fight back until SE.RA.PH dropped a barrier. As Rani's energy core is about to explode, Berserker ran to the core shielding both Hakuno and Rani. As Berserker started to disappear, Hakuno saw Berserker smiled gently towards Hakuno and Rani.
Last Encore[]
Berserker and Lancer are revealed to have killed each other off during their fight on the sixth floor, accidentally damning their respective Masters to a state of no victor nor loser, shortly before the Moon Cell shut down.
Rani, or copies of her, were subsequently turned into a Demi-Servant that can use Berserker's power. Rani and Rin, who also possessed Lancer's power, struggled to find someone who could free them from stagnation.
Unfortunately, said someone could save only Rin.
Fate/EXTELLA[]
Berserker returns, but this time as a selectable playable character for Hakuno Kishinami. He's in Tamamo-no-Mae's party along with Medusa, Karna, and Elizabeth Báthory. His treacherous nature is an open secret among Tamamo's party, with only Tamamo herself being unaware of his true nature.[11][12]
In his own side mission, some of Lu Bu's dialog is translated, revealing that he openly resents Tamamo and repeatedly proclaims his intent to one day crush her. At the end of his sidestory, he plans to finally strike out against Tamamo only to be stopped by Chen Gong, who suggests they instead bide their time and let Tamamo build up the nation for them first.
Fate/EXTELLA LINK[]
Lu Bu has been Oraclized by Karl der Große to be a member of the New Holy Empire.
First Route[]
If Hakuno's forces assault Mare Luxuria, Lu Bu is in command of Karl's forces there. He eventually appears to personally fight Hakuno's Servants once much of his army had been routed. He is subsequently defeated, and forced to retreat.
He returns later to guard Carolus Patricius's east gate along with Karna and Medusa. He protects one of the Karl Cannon firing upon Hakuno's forces, but he's eventually defeated.
Fate/Grand Order[]
Second Singularity: Septem[]
Lu Bu, along with Jing Ke, is a general serving under Nero Claudius. Before meeting Ritsuka and Mash, they have already killed three emperors of the United Roman Empire. On their way back to Rome though, they're attacked by enemy forces. After Ritsuka's party helps them, Jing Ke introduces herself and Lu Bu. However, he has already left to chase away the retreating enemy.[13] He later joins the military march towards the capital of the United Roman Empire, an exact copy of Rome. He is placed in the rearguard with Spartacus as part Nero's plan to capture the enemy capital. The rearguard is soon attacked, but Ritsuka and Mash help repel it so the two Berserkers don't chase after stragglers. However, the rearguard suffers another ambush while the vanguard was dealing Darius III and his undead troops. Spartacus and Lu Bu repelled the attack, but they broke away to chase the remnants.[14] They eventually return though in time to join the assault on the enemy capital.[15] However, while rampaging at the palace's entrance, they're annihilated by Altera's Noble Phantasm.[16]
Miss Almost Weekly Santa Alter[]
Lu Bu listens to The Phantom of the Opera as he laments about Christine and complains about Christmas. Then, when Santa Alter reveals herself to be Santa Claus, he becomes enraged along with The Phantom and attacks her with him and Darius III. After being defeated by Santa Alter, he regrets his behavior, and then is given a present by her.
Event: The Garden of Order[]
Lu Bu and Frankenstein are Servants missing from Chaldea to serve as tenants in the Ogawa Apartment. They share Room 601, which is brightly lit thanks to Frankenstein deciding to waste electricity after Nikola Tesla triggered a power outage at Chaldea with his Noble Phantasm. Lu Bu decided to help her since she looks like his daughter. Ritsuka's party evict the two for causing power outages.[17]
Event: Sanzang Coming to the West[]
Lu Bu plays the role of White Dragon Horse. Ritsuka's party first encounter him after agreeing Xuanzang Sanzang needs a mount. Due to his frightening disposition, Sanzang refuses to use him like a horse until Ritsuka hands her a scripture he was protecting. Riding on White Dragon Horse’s shoulders, she learns that the scripture was held by monsters, and there must be more. After reading the scripture, she declares to her disciples that they’ll collect the rest on their way to Tianzhu.
When Sanzang gets hungry, White Dragon Horse finds a cave filled with fruit. However, he stops her from eating a peach upon realizing it's a trap by Golden Horned King and Sliver Horned King (played by Stheno and Euryale, respectively). The kings welcome the group to the Lotus Cave and call upon Bronze Horn (played by Medusa). After forcing Golden Horn and Silver Horn to retreat, the group eats themselves full of the food in the cave and takes its treasures. They then continue onward to Tianzhu after Sanzang lets Bronze Horn go free.
Red Boy (played by Mordred) confronts the group, intending to stop their journey. After driving her off, the group nears the Flaming Mountains. Wujing warns Sanzang of a nearby presence, so the group enters the mountains to lose their pursuer.
There Sanzang tries and fails to walk through the fire to extinguish it. After White Dragon Horse saves her, the group slays their demon pursuers. Then, following a lecture from Nezha, Sanzang remembers they need the Banana Leaf Fan, Princess Iron Fan’s Noble Phantasm, to cross the Flaming Mountains.
Leaving the mountains, the group goes to the Banana Leaf Cave to get Banana Leaf Fan. Princess Iron Fan (lplayed by Florence Nightingale) refuses to give it to them since there are no reports of illness around the Flaming Mountains. She then accuses them of spreading disease and threatens to cook Bajie, forcing the group to fight her.
After defeating her, the group returns to the mountains with the Banana Leaf Fan. Sanzang is concerned that it looks like a certain holy sword though. Calling it Excalibanana Leaf Fan, she extinguishes the flames, and the group crosses the mountains.
Later, the group meets the Ox-Demon King (played by Artoria Alter). Sanzang returns the Banana Leaf Fan to her. As a sign of gratitude, the Ox-Demon King gives Sanzang the scripture she possesses. She then shows the one Nezha gave her when she visited earlier. She claims Buddha gave her a mission, revealing he sealed Sanzang’s memory inside the scriptures the group has been collecting. If Sanzang takes the sixth scripture, she’ll recover her lost enlightenment, and her journey will end. Sanzang refuses so Ox-Demon King decides to make Sanzang realize it doesn't matter who recites the scriptures. Recognizing the upcoming battle is hers, Sanzang tells her disciples not to help her as she thinks it’ll incite Buddha’s wrath and prevent their return to their world. Her disciples, however, declare they’ll stay and help her fight the Ox-Demon King. After being defeated, the Ox-Demon King confesses she complied with Budhha in exchange for him removing the odor of Iron Fan’s disinfectant.
Coming to River Ganges, the group sees Arjuna and Karna on its shores. Nezha arrives and explains they’re Underworld guardians. After the group defeat Arjuna and Karna, Ritsuka is able to rayshift back to Chaldea. White Dragon shakes Sanzang's hand and tells her something she doesn't understand. She tells him he was great to ride, and she’ll have a saddle ready for next time before he disappears.
Final Singularity: Solomon[]
Lu Bu is amongst the "Septem" Singularity Servant to aid Chaldea against Demon Gods Pillar.[18]
Interlude[]
In his interlude Tiger and Wolf, Lu Bu acts a guard for Ritsuka and Mash, but Romani is concerned due to Lu Bu's legacy of betrayal. Then after they repel an enemy attack, Romani recalls that Lu Bu had sacrificed himself for a woman, and ponders on who the true Lu Bu is.
Abilities[]
Being known as the strongest commander in the history of China, Lü Bu is a Servant that doesn’t bring shame to the name of “Peerless”.[3] His military exploits and deeds of arms are unmatched and he was counted as one of the strongest in the world of the Three Kingdoms.[3][4] His martial abilities were so advanced that he can easily qualify for any of the five classes present in the Holy Grail War: Lancer, Rider, Assassin, Berserker and Archer.[3][6] As Lü Bu was considered the most powerful warrior in China, so was his favored horse, Red Hare, considered the most powerful steed to be found in any of the major kingdoms. The animal would allow no other person to ride it, or even allow anyone but Lü Bu to handle its reins. Its physical prowess was also legendary and it has been said that Lü Bu managed to jump across a 30 meter wide moat while riding it.[6] Lü Bu also excelled in equestrian archery,[4][6] and was especially adept at shooting on horseback.[6] Due to this talent, he was likened to the "Flying General" Li Guang, a master of the bow from the Han dynasty, earning that title as well.[4][6] For all these reasons, Chen Gong saw Lü Bu as the reincarnation of the ancient God of War Guan Yu.[6]
As a Berserker, Lü Bu's parameters have been strengthened.[3] However, due to being under the effects of Mad Enhancement, most of his military related Skills from when he was alive have been erased from his mind.[3][6] Only his knowledge of the spear and of basic artillery (such as cannons) remains.[6] Despite his expertise in all martial arts being in a damaged state,[3] Tamamo-no-Mae describes him as a living fortress, with skills beyond exceptional. The reason Lü Bu is known as "Tamamo Killer" is that he can kill Tamamo in one hit even if she Guards.[11] Nero Claudius states he is exceptionally strong, and that she cannot allow her blade to become dulled before fighting him. Having been equipped with an Anti-Berserker Firewall Bypass Rin Tohsaka had prepared earlier for Cú Chulainn, Hakuno's Servants (Nero, Tamamo, or No Name) are able to defeat Lü Bu.[10]
Combat[]
Lü Bu is the infinitely strong wielder of the Houtengeki.[11] Although he seems massively powerful, Cú Chulainn is able to fight evenly with him in close range combat. Although Hakuno Kishinami believes either one could win, Nero Claudius disagrees, and states that Cú will eventually win, describing it as a classic David and Goliath situation. Although they are certainly equally matched as Servants, Rin Tohsaka has more creativity at her disposal. She is better able to exploit her enemy's weakness, and she wields her brain as if it were a blade itself. On the other hand, despite Rani VIII realizing what is happening, she does not have the cleverness to counter. Once Nero intervenes in the fight to face Lü Bu, she is greatly outmatched, forcing Hakuno to boost her with a Command Spell just for them to survive. This is enough for them to hold their own for a round, long enough for the SE.RA.PH's forced termination to activate.[8] Later on, in the 5th week, Li Shuwen is said to be Hakuno's strongest opponent thus far, due to the overwhelming difference between him and their servant.[9]
In Fate/EXTELLA, Karna states Lü Bu should be on par with Gawain under the Sun, and recommends Tamamo-no-Mae to lead Gawain straight to him so that she can destroy the markers that were empowering him while Lü Bu keeps him occupied. If Tamamo isn't fast enough, Gawain eventually defeats Lü Bu.[12]
In the Septem Singularity, Lü Bu and Spartacus were killed by Altera's Teardrop Photon Ray. Although Boudica and Mash Kyrielight protected themselves with their respective Noble Phantasms, the two Berserkers, who were rampaging around the palace entrance were killed by the remaining blast.[16]

- Mad Enhancement (A Rank): Ranks up Parameters, but deprives of the majority of reason in exchange.[3] When summoned as a Berserker in the Moon Holy Grail War,[3] he is linked with the battle awareness of his Master.[3][5][6] This causes him to function more rigid, in a mechanical way, in comparison to other Berserkers.[3][5][6]
Personal skills[]
- Valor (B Rank): The ability to make mental interference such as intimidation, confusion, or fascination have no effect. Also, it has the effect of increasing melee damage. However, since he has currently become a Berserker, his Bravery has dampened in comparison to the original him.[3][5][6]
- Nature of a Rebellious Spirit (B Rank): The disposition to never remain at one location and never embrace a lord. A wandering star that does not have the capacity to be king nor is capable of finding his own king. Negates the effects of Charisma with the same rank.[3][4][5][6] As a Berserker, this skill is sealed.[3] Because a Berserker Servant whose reason has been stolen is more loyal to their Master, it could be said that this is a rare case where this features of the berserker class are being employed correctly... at least theoretically.[3][6]
- Ruthless Warrior of the Turbulent Times (A Rank): A skill that represents the fame of Lu Bu as rowdy general.[3]
Noble Phantasm[]
Lü Bu's Noble Phantasm is God Force. The influence of the Berserker class has drastically powered it down.[3]

Creation and Conception[]
Takashi Takeuchi originally drew Lü Bu. When Arco Wada took a first glance at the design, she knew instantly that it was Lü Bu without any explanation.[2]
In the early designs, Lu Bu would have him being a half human, half horse centaur, or even him as a mech which ended up too tough to work out, but in the end they had to go with the true-to-form pure ancient Chinese style Lü Bu.[7]
Lü Bu was illustrated by Arco Wada in Fate/Grand Order. His scenario writer is Kinoko Nasu in Fate/Grand Order.

The true name given to Lu Bu Feng Xian's legendary halberd, the Sky Piercer. This weapon was considered the epitome of the weaponsmith's art as it perfectly balances all aspects of hand-to-hand combat into one formidable package.
The God Force was a masterpiece of Chinese weapons design created by the smith Chen Gong especially for Lu Bu, who he saw as the reincarnation of the ancient war god Guan Yu. Chen Gong believed that this god was responsible for the introduction of weaponry to the Chinese and strove to create a weapon that contained the strengths of all the weapons known to humanity at that time. This lead to the creation of Lu Bu's Noble Phantasm, which allows him to use his vast knowledge of the martial arts to adapt to and take advantage of his opponent's weaknesses.
Due to being under the effects of the Blind Rage enhancement, most of Lu Bu's skills have been erased from his mind and only his knowledge of the spear and of basic artillery (such as cannons) remains.
02 - Gate Halberd Shot
Lu Bu excelled at archery and was especially adept at shooting on horseback, earning him the nickname the "Flying General." He was very close to Liu Bei, one of the heroes of the Three Kingdoms era of Chinese history, and considered him to be his brother. When Liu Bei found his armies by Ji Ling, an ally of Lu Bu, Lu Bu went alone to meet with the heads of the opposing sides in an effort to stop the impending bloodshed.
Upon arriving at the gate of Ji Ling's encampment, he ordered that a halberd be set into the ground 150 paces away from where he stood. He then turned to the to leaders, and said the following:
"I will shoot an arrow, and if it hits the small blade sticking out from the side of that halberd, withdraw your forces. If I miss, you are free to slaughter each other down to the last man."
Both the Earth and Heavens aligned in perfect harmony, and Lu Bu's arrow hit the intended target, forcing Ji Ling to withdraw his forces.
03 - Red Hare
"Among men, Lu Bu; among horses, Red Hare",
As Lu Bu was considered the most powerful warrior in China, so was his favored horse considered the most powerful steed to be found in any of the major kingdoms.
The animal would allow no other person to ride it, or even allow anyone but Lu Bu to handle its reins. Its physical prowess was also legendary and it has been said that Lu Bu managed to jump across a 30 meter wide moat while riding Red Hare.０１ - 軍神五兵
呂布奉先の主武器として知れ渡っている、両手武器・方天画戟の真名。
方天画戟は既にして、兵器として名作である。

ただし、実際には北宋時代の武器であり、呂布が活躍した頃は存在していない。
この軍神五兵は君主を裏切るたびに窮地に陥っていく呂布のため、超軍師・陳宮が考案した
中華ガジェットの傑作である。
軍師・陳宮は呂布の強さ、姿に軍神を見た。
中国の古い軍神・蚩尤(シユウ)は戦斧・楯・弓矢の発明者と言われ、
その六腕すべてに異なる武器を持っていたとされる。
陳宮はこのイメージを呂布に被せ、五形態に変形する超兵器を考案。
呂布の多彩なる武を縦横無尽に開花させる、人工宝具を生み出すに至った。
もっとも。今の呂布はバーサーカー化しているため、現在はその多様性は失われている。
現状は矛と砲の形態(フォース)を残すのみだ。
０２ - 轅門射戟
呂布は騎射にも優れ、その才から漢代の弓の達人、飛将軍・李広になぞらえられた。
呂布が義弟と呼んだ三国志の英雄劉備が、
大勢力であり呂布の同盟者であった袁術の武将・紀霊に追い詰められていた時のこと。
呂布は両者の戦いを好まず、１５０歩先にある陣営の轅門に戟を掲げさせて言った。
「俺が矢を射て、あの戟の横に突き出した小さな刃に命中させたなら、軍を引け。当たらなければ好きに戦うが良い」
乾坤必中。
彼の射た矢は見事に命中し、紀霊は軍を引いたという。
０３ - 赤兎馬
「人中に呂布あり、馬中に赤兎あり」
と語られた呂布の愛馬。
彼以外のものには懐くことなく、
呂布はこれに乗って城の塹壕（少なくとも３０ｍ以上）を飛び越える事ができたという。Skills Blind Rage [A]

His name is synonymous with treachery and betrayal, though his fame as a might general was known throughout the period of Chinese history known as the era of the Three Kingdoms.
His martial abilities are so advanced that he can easily be classified in any of the five classes present in the Holy Grail War: Lancer, Rider, Assassin, Berserker and Archer.
02 - "General of Recursion"
Lu Bu Feng Xian, the traitorous general mentioned in the the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
While he had considerable success on the field of battle, his legacy will forever stained by his callous betrayal of the two men who took him in as a son. His military prowess elevated him to one of the strongest generals of the Three Kingdoms, though his inability to trust or follow led to his downfall. His lack of judgment was such that he slew Ding Yuan, the first of many confidants he betrayed, at the urgings of Dong Zhuo, who was frequently referred to as Demon Warlord. But once again Lu Bu's true nature emerged and he ended up slaying Dong Zhuo.
After this second act of treason, he wandered the provinces of North China, attempting to bring them all under his domination. However, his inability to rule led to his capture and execution by the general Cao Cao.
In the end, it was Lu Bu's hubris that brought him down as he believed that he was the mightiest general alive and that no one could defeat him. And although his patron Chen Gong was disappointed and disillusioned by him, he was able to use Lu Bu in his own machinations until his student's death.０１ - 人物背景：

Berserker’s (Lu) true name is hard to guess by just looking at him. Very mysterious. He is big, and strong.
...Just who the heck is this Lu Bu anyways? Really.
Although he has lost his sanity, he possesses a tall, strong body, and appears as the majestic general he is in his brilliant armor.
His master is Rani VIII.
As is the fate of those in the Berserker class, his lines are all just incomprehensible yelling, so we don’t know what his real personality is like.
The early designs of him included him being a half human, half horse centaur, or even him as a mech (which was too tough to work out), but in the end we had to go with the true-to-form pure ancient Chinese style Lu Bu.
All heroes who are summoned into the berserker class lose their mind in exchange for a strengthening of their parameters, and as a result they also lose the ability to use most of their special trained skills.
This berserker has lost all his military related skills from when he was alive, but in exchange his defiant nature has been sealed away. “Defiant Nature” means the disposition to defy one’s lord, but as long as this nature is sealed away, this Heroic Spirit will never betray his master. It can be said that this is a rare case where this features of the berserker class is being employed correctly.
…at least theoretically.
It is questionable whether this warrior is also tempted to kill the girl Rani, as she resembles Diaochan, the wife he madly loved when he was alive.パーサーカー（呂）【サーヴァント】

初期デザインでは人馬一体のケンタルウス形態だったり、そもそもメカだったりと難航したが、呂布はやっぱり純中華風でないとネ！という事で落ち着いた。
バーサーカーになった英霊は、パラメータ強化と引き替えに理性を失い、培った技術も大部分が使用不可状態になる。
