Daisuke Akimi (秋巳大輔, Akimi Daisuke?) is a detective working for the local law enforcement in the novel series Kara no Kyoukai.

Background[]
Daisuke is Mikiya Kokutou's uncle, his father's little brother, who acts as an elder brother figure to him. Since he is the youngest of his siblings, he is around Mikiya's age, Mikiya and his sister Azaka affectionately refer to him as their cousin.[1]
Due to some minor incident, Daisuke met the information broker Touko Aozaki. Since then, he has fallen into a one-side love affair that cannot be realized.[2]

Personality[]
Despite his scruffy and laid back appearance, Akimi is a diligent investigator who is put in charge of unraveling the truth behind a series of strange murders in which he suspects someone from Mikiya's high school. He is likes a brother to Mikiya, treating him as an equal friend despite the gap in age.[2] Daisuke holds Mikiya's investigation skills in high regard and often shares classified information with him to get his opinion as a third party observer.[3]
Daisuke is the type of man that treasures the smallest happiness. He has a strong sense of justice, but he is not bound by his own belief. Daisuke is the kind of mature man who can find joy in unrequited love.[2]

His chances of promotion were destroyed the moment he asked "Why on earth should I have to clear something like who I'm gonna marry with my superiors!?"[4]
