GreatWarGame

Great War of Heroes (英雄史大戦, Eiyū Shitaisen?) is a trading card arcade game popular within Fuyuki City.

Gameplay[]

The objective of the game is to take down your opponent's base. Each player has a base and five heroes defending it. The heroes each have an attack value, a defence value and a special ability normally relating to stats, bases or morale.

The cards in the game are divided into three types, Warriors, who fight up close, Archers who fight at range and Riders who fight from mounts with the three classes forming a trilemma of Warriors > Archers > Riders > Warriors.

While the basic game is played in five against five scenarios, variations exist on point basis, allowing players to focus on having a few powerful heroes, or loading the field with multiple weaker heroes.

Cards[]

Development[]

My Strongest Hero[]

The designs for the various heroes used for the in-universe card game come from readers of the manga. The author takes submissions drawn by the readers through the My Strongest Hero (ぼくの考えた最強偉人企画, Boku no Kangaeta Saikyō Ijin Kikaku?) contest and then redraws them in his own style.

Contest rules

Himuro no Tenchi Fate/School Life "My Strongest Hero" Recruitment!

We will select the strongest ideas from the applicants and author Mashin Eiichirou will adapt them to be drawn in the manga. The winners will be published and will receive a special souvenir. We await your submissions. The publication of the winners will be in Himuro no Tenchi ch. 100, in the March 2015 issue.

Reception Period
Sept. 22 through Dec. 1 2014

ENTRY GUIDELINES

Please limit your entries to real historical figures or characters from existing legends and folklore. Please refrain from wholly original characters. Keeping in line with the rules from the original Fate story, entries such as gods or demons are not permitted.
Previously published Heroes will be automatically rejected. Please refer to Himuro no Tenchi Vol. 5 for the full list.
In the case of multiple entries for the same Hero idea, we will use the most entertaining one.
We will publish your pen name and location in the margins of the magazine.
Entries infringing on the rights of third parties will not be accepted.
All winning entries will become property of Ichijinsha Publishing.[1]

Other info:

A few additional provisions based on the entries so far:
1) Currently living people are absolutely no good!
2) Similarly, we will be very strict regarding Heroes who have only died recently!
3) Just like in Fate, it may be possible to take more liberties with Heroes who are not from Japan but from more Western origins.

The Heroes who appeared in the pages of Vol 5 but were not reader submissions are also ineligible.

Please pay attention to the guidelines, as the number of submissions without name and address, or proper detail on Noble Phantasm, or from people who didn't pay attention to the rules are piling up.

If you do not enclose your real name and address in your entry, we will not know where to send the souvenir gift if your idea is adopted.
While there are some ideas we've received that we definitely want to use, we still haven't filled up our quota yet, so please send in your ideas. It's OK if you don't have a drawing and just send a written entry. In some cases, though, your original drawing might be published as well.

Q+A

Q: Can I only submit one heroic spirit per mail, or can I compile them?
A: It isn't a formal rule or anything, but it would be easier to read entries collected in one mail.

Q: In part of the story, Himuro has a "youkai deck." Are submissions of youkai heroes allowed?
A: If you send us something like Ittan-momen or Bugbear or Jibanyan, that wouldn't be good, but something like Medusa or Tamamo-no-Mae that has become a legendary figure shouldn't be a problem.

Q: Are currently living people totally banned for use as Heroes!?
A: We used "Stationmaster Tama"1 in Vol 5, so I suppose you could find a loophole of some sort.

Q: If I've thought up a new idea but have already sent in one submission, can I send in a second one?
A: There isn't any rule limiting the number of submissions, so you can send multiple entries as you come up with them.[2]
