This is a list of minor characters appearing in the Fate series, including Fate/stay night, Fate/hollow ataraxia, Fate/Zero, and other related stories.
Gil Brigade
The Gil Brigade are a group of children who follow the child version of Gilgamesh in Hollow Ataraxia. They consist of Jirou, the "Bland kid", Mimi, the one girl of the group who talks to Lancer while he is fishing, Imahisa, who makes fun of Lancer's cheap-looking fishing rod and for only being able to catch octopus, Kouta, who wants to toss Lancer some fish, and Kanta, who was unable to read Gilgamesh's manga because he wasn't done with it.
Glen and Martha Mackenzie
The Mackenzies
Glen Mackenzie (グレン・マッケンジー?) and Martha Mackenzie (マーサ・マッケンジー?) are an elderly Canadian couple who live in Japan. Glen is a 72 year old man, originally from Australia. Their son, daughter-in-law, and grandson were unable to adapt to Japan and have returned to Canada.[1]
They provide lodgings for Waver Velvet (who has made them believe he is their grandson) and Rider.
Though near the end, despite Waver's spell being under his effect, Glen was able to figure out that Waver was not his grandson, by asking him a question that contradicted with the memories he had of his actual grandson, but was still happy to have him around and didn't mind if Waver continued to do so. After the Fourth Heaven's Feel , Glen and Martha gave Waver permission to stay in Japan with them for a while, it is implied that Glen is aware of Rider's death since Waver mentioned how both he and Rider were involved with a life threatening situation when both Glen and Waver were alone on the roof.
Golden Fuyuki-kun
Golden Fuyuki-kun (ごーるでん冬木くん?) is a parody version of Gilgamesh featured in the TMitter 2010 April Fools' Day joke. He is a mascot character that scares children.
Guinevere
GuinevereWP (ギネヴィア?) is the wife of King Arthur and the lover of Lancelot. Though the King was secretly a woman, it was necessary that a noble and virtuous queen be beside the ideal king who would save their ravaged, war-torn country. The King needed a wife according the the ideals of the populace, and a single woman's life was insignificant compared to such a grandiose ideal. Though a marriage between two women could never be consummated, it was a necessary sacrifice to protect the country and the greater good.[2]
She attracted Lancelot's attention through her sorrow, having discarded everything and consigned herself to becoming not a "woman", or even a "human." She was nothing but a mechanical part called a "queen" that supported the king ruling the kingdom. Lancelot was granted his first audience with her in the court, and that was enough to make him swear in his heart to do anything for her, even give up his life. They became closer, and though she had finally discovered that it was his very thoughts that had been tormenting her, she was too late and had already fallen in love.
Love was the greatest taboo for someone who had given up her happiness as a woman, and that love was the root of their downfall. It was an impermissible romance, and although there should have been a path for them to continue to the end, their roles did not allow for it. The perfect knight served the perfect king in the utmost capacity, but there was still her, the tormented and ignored woman who could only weep every day. Their affair was eventually brought forth by people wishing to shatter the King's prestige, and she had been given the death sentence.
The events brought her great sorrow, becoming more ragged each day as she silently cried. She was ashamed beyond measure, blaming and questioning her own actions. She was assaulted by words like "unchaste wife" and "traitorous queen", holding herself as a sinner shouldering all the guilt and blame in the world. They did not know the truth about her marriage, so they simply surrounded her and reprimanded her all at once. Arthur never blamed her, as it was her fault for hiding her gender. Guinevere was the one who had to shoulder the burden, but it did not matter when faced publicly with the affair.
Lancelot was forced to betray his King to save her, causing her to fall into a deep self-deprecation for having misguided the "perfect knight." He acknowledges that the only thing he did for her was make her cry forevermore.
Kaede Makidera
Kaede Makidera (蒔寺 楓, Makidera Kaede?)is a beautiful but loud and obnoxious sprinter. A member of Class 2-A's famed track girl trio. She is the track team's star sprinter, and she wishes people would call her the "Black Panther of Homura" while her actual nickname is just "Maki".
She is a friend of Rin Tohsaka and she's scheming at making her as her best friend, and she sees Ayako Mitsuduri as a rival. Her hobby is collecting wind chimes, and she loves working with glass. Perhaps because her tastes intersect with Rin's on that point, the two often go around visiting antique shops together on their days off and the two often go window-shopping together.[3]
She is energetic, likes competition, and tries to lead the members of their trio. She can't really stand failures. She is not academically brilliant and has poor marks at school. In the Fate/school life spinoff, she is depicted as receiving high marks only in History class.
Kane Himuro
Kane Himuro (氷室 鐘, Himuro Kane?) is a student at Homurahara School. She is a friend of Yukika Saegusa and Kaede Makidera, they are known as Class 2-A's famed track girl trio and she generally plays the straight man of the group. She is the track team's high-jumping ace. If you're wondering whether or not she hates having such an old-fashioned name as "Kane", she's actually really fond of it. It seems she actually wants to paint pictures, but was strong-armed into joining the track team by Kaede.[4]
She is considerate and intelligent. She is the brains of the trio. She is quiet, reserved, and doesn't speak that much as well. She is Minori's best friend and has a passion for gossip, especially if it involves those around her. She stars in her own spin-off series, Fate/school life, which displays her in a much more comical light along with her friends.
Kotone
Kotone (コトネ, Kotone?) is a second grade female student that attends Yatsushirodai Elementary School (八代台小学校, Yatsushirodai Shougakkou?), just outside Fuyuki City. She is a close friend and classmate of Rin Tohsaka during Rin's stay with her maternal grandparents during the events of Fate/Zero. Rin feels very proud of the trust and respect Kotone has for her. She feels it is good opportunity to put her family creed into action by standing up for Kotone, such as when she is bullied by the boys of their class or when the librarian forces work onto her. Kotone eventually vanishes from school much like many other children of the area. She is taken by Ryuunosuke Uryuu and Caster for use in their various human projects and sacrifices. Rin realizes the disappearances are related to Holy Grail War in some way, and feels that she is the only one able to help her.
Rin ventures into the city to search for her alone. It is implied that Kotone meets the same gruesome fate as most of Ryuunosuke and Caster's other victims during the novel. Rin begins to despair that the hope of finding her alive is slim, and eventually even thinks that she should have aimed to find her remains in the first place. She is never referenced again afterward. The anime version of the events play out differently, as Rin manages to follow Ryuunosuke to a old building where he is keeping a number of children. She finds Kotone among them, and she manages to save them all by shattering the magecraft that was holding them in a trance. Kotone returns to school afterward with the other victims. She was originally named Satsuki in the first draft until it was remembered that Satsuki Yumizuka has that name.[5]

Minori Mitsuduri
Minori Mitsuduri (美綴実典, Mitsuduri Minori?) is the younger brother of Ayako Mitsuduri, a Homurahara student and a member of the Archery Club. He has a crush on Sakura Matou, and perceives Shirou Emiya as his rival. He becomes the captain of the Archery Club after Sakura graduated.
Minori is somehow shy, but he might be also a bit aggressive, especially with people he doesn't really like or trust (like Shirou for instance). He does not show any particular affection to his sister, although he greatly loves and respects her.
Norikata Emiya
Norikata Emiya (衛宮 矩賢, Emiya Norikata?) is the father of Kiritsugu and fourth head of the Emiya family. He is a genius who rose to the rank of receiving a Sealing Designation even though he is only the fourth generation, a relatively shallow generation compared to more esteemed families. He managed to evade the enforcers for twenty years despite being actively hunted the entire duration of time, but his wife was slain by the enforcers shortly after Kiritsugu's birth. He eventually settled and hid on a small southern island, Alimango Island, with Kiritsugu while working on a potion to make the drinker into a Dead Apostle, so that he may continue his work for as long as he needs with the immortality. He had Shirley working as his assistant, and due to her overeagerness, she drank one of his experimental potions. After the outbreak of the Dead on the island, he is assassinated by his son before he can escape and resume his research elsewhere.
He researched Time Manipulation, manipulation inside the body or possibly small cause-and-effect, in his quest to reach the Root as had his ancestors. The Emiya's magecraft works by accelerating or slowing the flow of time inside a Reality Marble free from the world’s interference. Thorough investigation lead him to the realization that a Bounded Field that was minimized until resistance was almost zero could allow the the flow of time to be accelerated without limit. He believed that reaching the Root was possible, right before observing the universe's end. While the theory was promising, such an experiment would have required hundreds of years to finish, leading him to resolve the issue of life span by exploring methods to become a Dead Apostle.[9]
Raiga Fujimura
Raiga Fujimura (藤村雷画, Fujimura Raiga?) is the boss of a yakuzaWP group operating in Fuyuki City, and is the grandfather of Taiga Fujimura. He was an old friend of Kiritsugu Emiya, and as a favor, manages Kiritsugu's estate after his death in place of Shirou Emiya. He enjoys sumo wrestling and hunting, and he will often give Shirou spending money for accompanying him to such events.[10] Though Shirou sees his profession as a problem, he tends to simply ignore it. Though he has a energetic and scary personality, Shirou believes he is not a bad person, as he shows eg. when he pays Shirou a large sum for tuning up his motorcycle.
Reikan Ryuudou
Reikan Ryuudou (柳洞 零観, Ryuudou Reikan?) is Issei's older brother and a judo specialist. His personality is similar to that of Fate/zero's Rider and he is more broadminded than his brother. There have been times when he's asked Taiga for a date and then ended up in the hospital thanks to her father's subordinates.
Reikan is a very responsible person. Issei tries to act in the same manner and follows him as a role model. Reikan is very fond of martial arts, training frequently with Souichirou, and takes his role and his duties very seriously. He dislikes having a woman, Caster, living in the temple, but he does not dislike her personally.
Yukika Saegusa
Yukika Saegusa (三枝 由紀香, Saegusa Yukika?) is the gentle manager of the Track Team, warmly loved by the majority of her class. She is a female student of Second year Class A in Homurahara Academy. She is the mascot girl of the Class 2-A's famed track girl trio. Originally she supposed to join the Cooking Club, but she became the manager of the Cross-country Club at Makidera's insistence. Just like her appearance, she is extremely bad at sports.
Yukika is a shy, patient, and mature girl. Although she lived in poverty, her heart shone brighter than the most lustrous silk. Consequently, her smile healed those around her. While she isn't a honor student, she respects and she looked up to her classmate Rin Tohsaka in awe. She had several younger brothers of various ages. She's very affectionate towards her younger brothers and she spends a lot of her free time looking after them.[11]
She is one of the few people able to see Assassin at the Ryudo Temple gate, and strikes up a conversation with him in Fate/hollow ataraxia.

A 72 year old man from Australia. Thanks to hypnosis, Waver was able to use him for free room and board during the Fourth Holy Grail War.
In his younger days he was a hotshot businessman, and moved his family to Japan as part of his job. However, he ended up being so taken with Fuyuki that he decided to live there permanently. He retired from his company and started up his own independent import-export business.
But though his management ability was solid, he had no great ambitions as a trader. He worked for forty long years, avoiding pitfalls and bankruptcy, and passed the company on to a successor as soon as he had enough money saved. Now he passes his days in quiet tranquility, working part-time as a teacher at an English conversation school.
His son Chris had been in elementary school when they moved, and while he enjoyed life in Japan he also felt a strong attraction to his roots and wanted his son to be educated in Australia. In the end, Chris' family moved back to Toronto soon after the birth of their child and gradually fell out of contact with Glen and his wife, until eventually they barely ever heard from each other at all.グレン・マッケンジー【人名】

I dare say she was a glasses-wearing girl at heart. You know, the stereotypical kind that's actually really hot when she takes them off.
In accordance with the culture of the time, she was taught from a young age to avoid self-reflection, and so had very little sense of herself as a woman, or even that there was a difference between the sexes. She truly thought that the relationship between a king and queen was something formed solely from ideals. She never could have imagined that a different sort of attraction between people could exist at all. But, that all changed when she met Sir Lancelot.
From that day on she was cast into turmoil, torn between the "tsun" of her conviction and the "dere" of her soul, until finally both she and Lancelot were driven into a predicament from which there was no escape. Once up on a time, there was a king in England named Arthur Pendragon. He was the legendary king who staunchly defended the land from the invading Saxons for a long period of time.
The name Arthur, written in the fashion of Romans is “Artorius”. Its feminine form is “Artoria”, which is the true name of Saber.
Artoria was born between Uther Pendragon and a Queen hailed from the rival kingdom. She grew up under the guidance of the True Magician Merlin, and became the king after pulling out the Sword of Selection. Later, she led Lacenlot, Gawain, and other famed knights to achieve innumerable deeds. They engaged the King of Saxons at the Battle of Badon Hill and brought peace to the land of Britain. Because the Scabbard of the Holy Sword stopped her from aging, Artoria continued to reign as the ideal king. It was ironic that Queen Guinevere and the serving knights grew more distant from Artoria precisely because she was too ideal. In the civil war that raged at the end of her reign, she crossed blade with her very own son, Mordred. At that instant, she pledged her service as a Heroic Spirit after death in exchange for striking a pact with the World. The one wish she hoped the Holy Grail could realise was “redo the selection of the king”. In legend, the body of King Arthur was transported to the Fairyland – Avalon, where he is healing his wounds in serenity.
Tactics
Saber’s ability is maximally unleashed while engaging in an honourable face-to-face single combat. It is a method of battle that is full of chivalric honour, and it is also one that suits Saber's sense of aesthetics. However, this does not mean she dislikes strategising. Because she is also a capable military commander, she tends to loath fabricated strategies that have no concrete basis. She fine-tunes her strategy meticulously. While on the battlefield, she further adapts her actions in response to the ever-changing dynamics of combat. Naturally, Saber despises cowardly actions, strategies or not. For this reason, in the Fourth Holy Grail War, her compatibility with the cool-headed, achieving-his-goal-at-all-cost Master Emiya Kiritsugu was the worst.
Class Abilities
Magic Resistance: A
Artoria boasts the highest rank of resistance to magic amongst the Servants. She is capable of completely neutralising grand sorceries involving magic arrays and instant contracts. Even modern magi of the highest level cannot wound her directly with sorcery. Artoria is able to resist an action force onto her powered by one stroke of the Command Spell. Such is the extraordinary rank of Artoria’s Magic Resistance, sufficient to shake the very foundation of the Servant System. If the opponent is someone who attacks with sorcery, Artoria will charge without fear and determine the outcome of the battle with a slash.
Also, as her “Pendragon” name shows, Artoria is the holder of the Element of the Red Dragon, charged with the task of protecting the kingdom. She carries the very magical power of the Dragon. This humongous magical power is also the source of Artoria’s Magic Resistance. Due to the characteristics of Dragon, Artoria has much trouble with existences such as Siegfried, who is associated with tales of “Dragon extermination”. If she is targeted by “Dragon-slaying Sorceries”, it is possible that Magic Resistance will not function to its fullest extent.
In the story, Artoria retained her Magic Resistance of A while having Emiya Shirou and Rin as Masters, regardless the two’s differences in power and characteristics. On the other hand, while having Matou Sakura as her Master, her Magic Resistance decreased to B as a result of Blackening.
Riding: B
Since “knights” are soldiers who are proficient in mounted warfare, Saber’s rank in Riding is very high. Chariots can be ridden the same way. Motorcycles and automobiles are treated as “modern mounts”, thus a high rank in Riding is also applicable. It is unclear if Riding is applicable to aircrafts. Saber’s Riding was elevated to A while having Emiya Kiritsugu as Master. However, Artoria can ultimately only control normal mounts. She cannot control Pegasi, Griffons, Dragons, and other Magical Beast, Divine Beast Ranked Phantasmal Species. This is due to her Class not being Rider, as well as the fact that she was a King in the Age of Man, thus did not have the fortune of having “Legends of Riding Phantasmal Species”.
Artoria rode a motorcycle in the Fourth Holy Grail War, but did not have the opportunity to demonstrate her Riding ability in the Fifth Holy Grail War. Provided with the appropriate mount, the battles might have developed differently.
Personal Skills
Instinct: A
Instinct is the ability to instantly identify “the best personal course of action” during combat. Because this skill allows for the prediction of trajectory, it is possible to avoid attacks from firearms. At rank A, it is essentially in the realm of predicting the future. Through this ability, it is possible to negate the penalties inflicted by visual and auditory interference to a certain extend.
Being able to discern Cú Chulainn’s ultimate technique certainly reflects her skills, but having exceptional Instinct also helped her immensely.
Mana Burst: A
The ability to reinforce one’s weapon and body through the infusion of magical energy. By reinforcing the ability of the body to a great extend using magical energy, the physically fragile Artoria was able to fight head on with monsters such as Berserker. At rank A, even a stick can become a weapon of great power.
Executing large-scale body reinforcement through Mana Burst is only possible with Artoria’s immense magical power.

Charisma: B
Artoria possessed high Charisma, and reigned as the king of England. The morale of military forces she commands is extremely high. However, this strong influence is still insufficient to build a vast empire spanning the world, so it remains at rank B (enough to rule a country).
Caption: Artoria, the protector of the British Isles. Even with her Charisma, she could not avert the fall of her kingdom.
Noble Phantasms
Invisible Air

A barrier that renders the blade hidden by entangling it with layers of wind, and altering the light refraction rate. It is closer to a sorcery than a Noble Phantasm. By using this barrier, Artoria can attack without the opponent recognising the sword’s reach and trajectory. Since concealing one’s Noble Phantasm also conceals one’s true identity, Invisible Air was highly effective at the early stages of the Holy Grail War. It also has other advantages such as increasing attack power and accuracy. Entangling the sword with wind and using the wind as the blade enhances the attack power, while having an “invisible weapon” provides an advantage in accuracy. (Translator’s Note: It is probably more “decreasing opponent's evasion” in RPG terms.) Since the advantage of Invisible Air lies in “invisibility”, the accuracy increase will not occur while engaging opponents who possess Eye of the Mind or do not depend on vision.
In the Fourth Holy Grail War, Artoria unleashed the condensed air and used it as a long-range weapon that mauls down groups of enemies --- “The Iron Mallet of the Wind King”.

The greatest and most powerful Noble Phantasm of Artoria (Translator’s Note: Not Avalon?). It is the strongest and most majestic holy sword that symbolises King Arthur. The pinnacle of holy swords. Excalibur was not forged by mankind, but crystallised within the Earth, using the wishes of mankind as the basis. It is one of the ultimate God-forged weapons, a Last Phantasm. Originally cared for by the Faeries of the Planet, it was passed into the hands of King Arthur through the Lady of the Lake.
Excalibur converts the mana of the wielder into light, and as the sword is swung, the light is released from the tip of the blade like a laser beam and destroys everything in its path. Of course, the mana consumption is extreme, thus it cannot be fired consecutively. In the Fourth Holy Grail War, the beastly giant sea monster summoned by Caster was completely incinerated by this Noble Phantasm. Excalibur is classified as an ‘Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasm” due to its magnitude and destructive power.
Avalon

The sheath of Excalibur, a Noble Phantasm with its origin in the Fairyland Avalon where King Arthur rests. The wielder will heal from any wound, and the aging process will cease. Unleashing the true name of Avalon will deploy a Bound Field that provides the greatest defence. A Noble Phantasm that annuls the interference of True Magic; its existence is equivalent to True Magic.
In legend, losing this sheath casted an ominous shadow onto the life of King Arthur, eventually cascading to the collapse of the kingdom. In modern times, the Einzberns excavated Avalon at Cornwall and passed it into the hands of Emiya Kiritsugu. Afterward, it was planted into the body of Emiya Shirou to save his life, eventually becoming the link that led to his bond with Artoria. In Fate Route, Artoria learned that Shirou was her “sheath”, which led the duo to emerge victorious in the Holy Grail War.対魔力: A

The true heroine of this story. She was the young girl knight who forged a contract with Emiya Shirou and fought in the Holy Grail War.
She was loyal, faithful, and diligent. The knight's pride covered her femininity.
If we were to remove this facade, then we could recognize that she was no different from a young girl her age.
Saber was peevish and tenacious. She loved games of chance and would focus to the extent of ignoring her surroundings. Saber loved to eat and would be energized by the prospect of having good food. She worried about being defeated in front of her favorite partner. Mmm, Saber was truly a fastidious heroine.
Her true identity was King Arthur.
She disguised herself as male and ruled as the king, but had the misfortune of dying in the subsequent civil war after establishing peace in her empire.
The King Arthur in the story of Fate was an amalgamation of historical facts and legends. Saber's name before becoming king was Artoria.
It must be tough to live in a palace while disguising her gender.
The greatest problem was probably producing an heir, but that was solved by Merlin through magecraft.
In the story, the line "I know how to please a man" was from experience.
Saber's aging process was halted the moment she pulled out the Sword of Selection. The age of her body was probably a year younger than Shirou.
By the way, King Arthur was the Crimson Dragon that guarded Britannia.
Saber's father Uther Pendragon produced an heir with the Dragon Factor according to Merlin's plan. As a result, Artoria was born human but carried the magical power of Dragons.
Magic Circuits were unnecessary, Artoria generated mana just by breathing in harmony with the coursing of her blood. It could be called a "Magical Furnace" that was worlds beyond what mages had to offer.

The main theme during early development of Fate was "a story about the Holy Grail and King Arthur", and it had remained unchanged until now.

性别を偽つての王宮生活は気苦労の連続であったろう。なかでも困ったのが世継ぎの問題だが、マーリンの魔術で事なきを得られたそうだ。本騙での、「殿方の喜ばせ方は知っています」という台詞は、実経験から来たものだったり。
選定の剣を抜いた時から年をとっておらず、肉体年齢的には土郎より一才ほど下だとか。
また、アーサー王はブリテンを守る赤い竜である。
