[edit] History

mirror moon was founded in June 2005 with the initial aim to translate Tsukihime, and possibly other TYPE-MOON games. It was founded by chendo, dmpk2k and AstCd2 in #manga-sketchbook, a scanslation group soon after chendo viewed Shingetsutan Tsukihime and wanted more, but there were no progressing translation groups. Instead of using NScripter, Tsukihime's original engine, chendo turned to ONScripter to find a way to display English text without resorting to crude hacks. Collaborating with Ogapee, an English patch was created and soon a proof-of-concept translation of the opening sequence was complete. On August 30, mirror moon merged with Revolve (who were and are working on translating the various versions of Melty Blood) for the purpose of sharing Tsukihime terminology and more translators. The full Tsukihime patch was released on November 5th, 2006. A patch for the first route of Fate/stay night was released in May 2007. In June 2007 mirror moon teamed up with the translation group Soylations to continue translating the Leaf game Utawarerumono[1], one of the two non-TYPE MOON projects they have done to date, the other being WindomXP.

[edit] TYPE-MOON projects

  • Tsukihime: mirror moon's flagship project. Version 1.0, which translated the whole game, was released on November 5th, 2006[2], version 1.1 with relatively minor fixes was released on December 3rd[3]
  • Kara no Kyoukai: The first few chapters of the novel set in the Tsukihime universe that was released on the TYPE-MOON website was translated single-handedly by Takajun. The project is now continued mostly independently of mirror moon at the Baka-Tsuki wiki.
  • Fate/stay night: A patch for the first route, Fate (route), was released on May 5th, 2007[4], the second route, Unlimited Blade Works (route), was released early 2008[5] as "v2.0". The third and final route, "Heaven's Feel (route)" has been released in the "v3.1" and all following patches on November 1, 2008. [6]
