Saber's True Name is Artoria Pendragon (Lily) (アルトリア・ペンドラゴン（リリィ）, Arutoria Pendoragon (Riry)?), better known as Arthur Pendragon (アーサー・ペンドラゴン, Āsā Pendoragon?) and King Arthur (アーサー王, Āsā-Ō?). A destiny's child born to save the Isle of Britain, which was heading towards ruin due the fading of mystery. An "incarnation of the dragon" created by the plan of the previous king, Uther, and the magus Merlin. Because of this, she is liken to the red dragon that protects Britain.
Here, she in this state is known as the Knight Princess (騎士姫, Kishi-hime?), The figure of Artoria from after she drew out the sword of selection Caliburn, and had just began walking down the path of a king. She was still an inexperienced knight. To experience many things, Artoria traveled the land and engaged in many adventures. The people she saved in his time came to call her in past of the Knight Princess, for her brilliance and beauty.
Her party during the tour round the country was composed by her step-brother, Sir Kay, and the attendant magus Merlin, and it was mostly something like things starting with Artoria's meddling, becoming out of hand with Merlin's chaffing and Kay ending up covering for everybody's asses.
A girl-knight who is still somewhat half-assed. A romantic knight who practices daily in order to become the ideal king. Although still half-assed, her girlishness has not been wiped away yet and her heart is filled with hopes and dreams. Although the training to become a king is harsh, she is happy as long as she can take care of the horses.
Saber Lily appears as an unlockable costume for Saber. Differing from Saber Alter who is a unique alternate character, Saber Lily is simply a costume that changes nothing else about the character. Unique from other alternate costumes, her name changes along with the costume, and although her artwork shows her wielding Caliburn, she still wields Excalibur in-game.
Creation and ConceptionEdit
First appearing in Fate/unlimited codes as an alternate costume, Saber Lily was designed by Takashi Takeuchi as another form of the King of Knights with an "emphasis on her girlishness." In contrast to the blackened Saber Alter, she is called the pure and sweet "Princess of Knights" who is shown to carry Caliburn rather than Excalibur. Her design was inspired by the dress Caster placed on Saber after she was captured during Unlimited Blade Works. The design was filled with the feminine qualities that Saber lacks, and "Lily" in her name refers to her skirt being designed to resemble the petals of a lily flower. She originally had no background information within unlimited codes or other side materials, but Nasu Kinoko and Gen Urobuchi joked about her being a version of Saber fully tamed by Caster during a discussion.
- In the Type-Moon's 10th Anniversary Character Poll, Saber Lily from Fate/unlimited codes was ranked 46th.

Magic Resistance: B
Caliburn: Golden Sword of the Victorious
The figure of Altria from after she drew out the sword of selection Caliburn, and had just began walking down the path of a king.
A girl-knight who is still somewhat half-assed.
Such figure is much like that of a lovely lily, and also, her eyes are filled with glittering hope.
While wandering around all over the country in order to experience many things, she left behind many adventure stories. It seems that those she saved praised her flamboyance as a knight-princess.
Level 1 Bond
Source: Arthurian Legends
Alignment: Lawful Good Gender: Female
Although the training to become a king is harsh, I'm happy so long I can take care of the horses.
Level 2 Bond
A romantic knight who practices daily in order to become the ideal king.
Although still half-assed, her girlishness has not been wiped away yet and her heart is filled with hopes and dreams.
Her party during the tour round the country was composed by her step-brother, Sir Kay, and the attendant magus Merlin, and it was mostly something like things starting with Altria's meddling, becoming out of hand with Merlin's chaffing and Kay ending up covering for everybody's asses.
Level 3 Bond
- Instinct: A
The ability to always "grasp" the most suitable developments for oneself during battle.
Her sharpened sixth sense is already close to premonitions of the future.
Reduces by half hindrances that interfere with the senses of sight and hearing.
However, having a good intuition is also problematic. At any rate, because she ends up grasping the troubles of the people that catch her eyes, she unconsciously ends up giving a helping hand to each new person she meets.
Level 4 Bond
"Golden Sword of Compelled Victory"
Rank: B (conditionally A+) Type: Anti-Unit
Originally a sword for the sake of selecting the king. Its "Anti-Unit" classification does not refer to the enemy, but instead point to the one who shall have ownership over it from now on. When the owner turns into a proper, perfected king its power will become appropriate for a holy sword.
Level 5 Bond
A destiny's child born to save the Isle of Britain, which was heading towards ruin due the fading of mystery.
An "incarnation of the dragon" created by the plan of the previous king, Uther, and the magus Merlin. Because of this, she is liken to the red dragon that protects Britain.
Possessing the heart of a dragon, which belongs to the top-ranks of the Phantasm Species, the amount of magical energy she can generate inside her body overwhelms other Heroic Spirits.
Caliburn and Excalibur are two different holy swords.
In a sense, Caliburn was something for the sake of rearing King Arthur as a king, a member of royalty.
Originally, Caliburn was meant for ceremonial-use.
If this is employed in battle as a weapon, and its True Name is released, a firepower on the same scale as Excalibur will be displayed, but its blade will probably be unable to withstand Altria's magical energy and break.

TYPE-MOON Ace 7 - 10 year Anniversary interview: Nasu Kinoko X Takeuchi Takashi X Urobuchi Gen
Q: OK then, we'll change topics. Saber has a lot of alter egos like Saber Alter and Saber Lily. How do you see them, Urobuchi?
OK then, we'll change topics. Saber has a lot of alter egos like Saber Alter and Saber Lily. How do you see them, Urobuchi?
Uro: What I imagine is that for the Saber Lily storyline, in Fate/stay night, Saber was completely beaten by Caster, and so she became one of her Servants. Like, she thought "I'd be way better off with Caster than with Shirou." (Laughs)
Nasu: I never thought of that. Interesting. So in other words, the white dress represents how both her body and soul have been tamed by Caster. So Lily is truly like a "lily" to Caster... you crazy bastard, you did it again...
Takeuchi: Lily's design was inspired by the dress she wore when Saber was captured by Caster. Then, we just filled it with feminine qualities that Saber lacked and it became what it is now. So basically, I think Urobuchi really hit it close to the mark.
Uro: Really?! Lily looked like a villain to me from the moment I saw her. Imagine her appearing from behind Caster, really working those heels! Just thinking of it gets me excited!
Takeuchi: But in terms of villains, don't we already have Alter?
Uro: No, she isn't a villain, she's a dark hero.
Nasu: Alter is an idealist who clings to her own values even though she's been blackened. In that respect, she isn't a pure villain.
Uro: For example, Alter's like how Hakaider was in Mechanical Violator Hakaider (*8). And Lily is the enemy she would face. The wrinkles in the corners of her eyes are proof to that. She'd shine as a villain.
Nasu: Then after defeating Lily in battle, Alter would jump on a motorbike in the last scene and ride off into the sunset. Then the narration would come in: "She is a modern knight, who lives in a world of darkness!" (*9)
Takeuchi: Motorbikes aside, (laughs) I do think it'd be interesting to add meat to Lily's character in that manner.
