ProfileEdit

IdentityEdit

Sakura Saber's True Name is Souji Okita (沖田総司, Okita Sōji?), the captain of the first unit of the Shinsengumi, a public order organization that was mostly active in the Kyoto of the Edo period's closing days. Even among the Shinsengumi, which was feared as a band of master swordsmen, the one admired as the strongest genius swordsman was Okita.[3]

AppearanceEdit

Unlike the historic version, Okita Souji is a female and she looks similar to King Arthur. She is a lovely girl in her mid-teens, who wraps her body in fashionable Japanese clothing.[3] She wears a Taisho style Kimono consisting a Hakama and long leather boots. In order to conceal her original costume, which is simply too conspicuous, she normally uses this outfit.[3]

PersonalityEdit

She has both the facet of a cool-headed man-slayer, as well as a cheerful side that is fond of children.[3]

Her wish to the Holy Grail is "to fight to the bitter end". Her dearest wish from while alive, which ended not being achieved no matter how much she wanted to. Even now, after having turned into a Heroic Spirit, she is regretting not having fought together with her comrades and has a wrong impression of herself as a failure of Shinsengumi's soldier.[3]

Fate/Grand OrderEdit

GUDAGUDA HonnoujiEdit

Okita with Nobunaga travel from their world to Ritsuka and Mash's world chasing a bizarre creature resembling Nobunaga called Mini-Nobu. After Romani reports that a singularity colliding with Chaldea is the source of the creatures, Okita and Nobunaga join forces with Chaldea to destroy the source of the creatures. Arriving in the singularity, Okita tells the Chaldea group about how the Holy Grail her world went out of control when it was tampered with strange technology. Later, Okita and the others observe Musashibou Sessai and Imagawa Yoshitune with an army of Mini-Nobus, which Nobunaga suspects to be brainwashing the Servants. Okita further suspects that the Servants have gained some unnecessary factors during summoning. Agreeing with a Night Raid on Sessai and Yoshitune's army, Okita decides to go get the army's attention so the others can ambush them. However, her illness alerts Matsudaira Arash to the group's presence. Though she and the others defeat Arash, they decide to run when he prepares his Noble Phantasm.

Later, She and the others encounter Takeda Darius and Sanada Medusa, then after defeat them, they encouner and defeat Uesugi Artoria. After Romani reports that a particle is contaminating the Servants, the group encounter Shimazu Setanta, Chousokabe Emichika, and Mouri Medinari, but Okita is unable to fight due to her illness. However, hearing the enemy's names causes her to don the Coat of Oaths in a fit of rage. Though Okita is able defeat them, she collapses almost immediately afterwards.

Later, after she recovered, Okita and the others head towards "Osaka", During the journey though, she reveals that the singularity wouldn't have been created if Nobunaga didn't try to turn the Grail into a bomb. After arriving in "Osaka", the group encounters and defeats Toyotomi Gilyoshi, Takenaka Andersen, and Kuroda Mephisto. However, after defeating them, Okita and the others are betrayed by Demon Archer when she uses the teapot transformed core of the Grail left by Kuroda to restore her power. Nobunaga then reveals she plans to use the Grail to take over the singularity, and then proceeds to her reveal her true name though Ritsuka and Mash aren't surprised. After Okita explains that Nobunga revealed her name during lunch, another Nobunaga appears, revealing that the Nobunaga that came with the group to Osaka is an impostor. Deciding to call the impostor: Bad Nobu and the real one: Good Nobu, Okita and others proceed to battle Bad Nobu. With the singularity collapsing as the result of Bad Nobu's defeat, Okita gives her thanks and goodbyes to Ritsuka and Mash. However, she and Nobunga reappear in Chaldea again, where she again thanks Ritsuka and Mash for helping them, but Mash tells her and Nobunaga to leave.

Salomon: The Grand Time TempleEdit

She is amongst the "special event" Servants to assist the Chaldea against Demon Gods Pillar.[4]

GUDAGUDA Meiji RestorationEdit

Other appearancesEdit

Sakura Saber and Demon Archer are the regular host for Fate/GUDAGUDA Order.

AbilitiesEdit

  • Saber's sword "Kojiki Kiyomitsu" and "Kiku-Ichimonji Norimune".

Although she is a Saber-class Servant, both of her class skills are very poor. Her Magic Resistance is very low due to her existing in the Bakumatsu era where magic is an uncommon practice when the mystery is thin. Her Riding skill is limited due to the Shinsengumi have only rode on horses.[1]

Saber has been cursed by Weak Constitution (病弱, Byōjaku?) skill, it is a weakness struck by the nature of frail health. In Saber case, it is the result of tuberculosis illness in her lifetime. The skill nature is similar to Innocent Monster curse where the people of future generations perspective effects the existence of Heroic Spirit. She is accompanied by the risk of sudden status drop at anytime of every action. The probability of risk is not high but when it is invoked in combat, it is immense.[1]

CombatEdit

Reduced Earth (縮地, Shukuchi?) is a technique to cut down the distance between opponents instantly. Many martial arts masters have pursue the extremity of Step Movements (歩法, Hohō?) in martial arts. Rather than a simple quickness, there are numerous phenomena that are connected with each other and are completed with walking, body movement, Breathing and blind spot. The highest grade beyond A-rank becomes a long dimension leap technique and it would be in the category of Sage Techniques (仙術, Senjutsu?).[1]

Saber's Noble Phantasm is her Shinsengumi uniform Coat of Oaths and the Shinsengumi flag Flag of Sincerity. Lightless, Three-Stage Thrust, while a skill, is treated as her main offensive Noble Phantasm in Fate/Grand Order.

DevelopmentEdit

Creation and ConceptionEdit

  • Kimono concept
  • Chikai no Haori.

Sakura Saber is first introduced as part of a joke in that Takashi Takeuchi was supposed to introduce a new Servant in Koha-Ace, but instead drew another version of Saber.

It is worth noting that Irisviel von Einzbern wears an almost identical outfit in Onegai! Einzbern Consultation Room.
